The Jersey Sting slated for C-SPAN's Book TV next Saturday, May 28

“This is not a novel, you just can’t make these things up,” said Ted Sherman, a reporter with the Star-Ledger. “We were working on this case for the newspaper and as more revelations came out, we realized there were the makings of a pretty good book.”
“We knew how the case began, with a bad check written for $25 million, and how it ended, with dozens of arrests,” added Josh Margolin, a reporter for The New York Post. “What we didn’t know was where the investigation would take us."
Their discussion with NJN's Michael Aron will be carried next Saturday, May 28, on C-SPAN's Book TV

Authors of The Jersey Sting to discuss book at the Long Branch Public Library

Long before he became the key informant in the biggest federal sting in New Jersey history, Solomon Dwek claimed he paid off elected officials in Long Branch to gain zoning approval for 11 townhouses.

"If they were in power, I would have them in my pockets," said Dwek, a 38-year-old rabbi's son who began cooperating with federal authorities after being charged in 2006 with a $50 million bank fraud.
On Wednesday, May, 11, the authors of "The Jersey Sting" return to the scene to talk about the inside story of the undercover operation that led to the arrests of more than 44 people on charges of money laundering and public corruption.
Ted Sherman and Josh Margolin will be appearing at the Long Branch Free Public Library at 7 p.m. for a discussion and signing of their new book.
Full of impossible-to-make-up detail and fresh revelations from the continuing trials and investigations, the book—the inside, untold account of a federal sting operation that moves from the streets of Brooklyn to the diners of Jersey City, and all the way to Israel—has garnered wide praise and made the bestsellers list of the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association.
